Sophisticated Living in Historic Southport: Organizing The Pantry, Coffee Bar and More
Welcome back to The Prim Life!
Today, I’m excited to share a recent project we completed in the charming village of Southport, Connecticut. Our clients had just finished a stunning renovation in the Southport Historic District, thanks to the incredible work of Tanner White Architects and the beautiful design by Townsend & Co Interiors. With the renovation complete, we had the pleasure of stepping in to bring order and functionality to their new home.
Southport is known for its picturesque coastal charm, historic homes, and a tight-knit community. Working with the wonderful families in this vibrant waterfront community is always a joy. With tree-lined streets, vibrant gardens, and beautifully landscaped lawns, it's a place where the past meets the present, offering a serene backdrop that’s both elegant and inviting.
To complement the sophisticated interior designs by Townsend & Co and the architectural mastery of Tanner White, our focus was on designing and implementing bespoke organizational systems tailored to the lifestyle of this young family of five. We successfully created spaces that blend seamlessly with the sleek, modern interiors of this historic home, ensuring functionality that caters to an active daily life—making every part of the home both beautifully organized and highly functional.
Join me as we explore how Team Prim set this family up for success, transforming their Southport home with elevated organizational solutions that perfectly marry historic charm with contemporary living.
WALK IN PANTRY ORGANIZATION
Pantry Perfection
White oak, Arabescato marble, and unlacquered brass finishes provided us with a beautiful canvas to work with while designing the aesthetic of the organizational systems in the pantry. With open shelving and the pantry's location in a high-visibility area of the home, aesthetic organization was essential. We went with a warm, natural vibe for the organizational elements, focusing on making the space both chic and practical for daily living. Glass jars with wood lids were used for decanted pantry goods, while rattan bins with brass bin clips and House of Prim Vinyl Pantry Labels pulled everything together.
To add texture and visual layers to the space, we incorporated everyday items in the design: small bowls, cookbooks, salt cellars, and appetizer plates. The end result: a perfect blend of visual appeal and practical magic—pantry perfection at its finest.

COFFEE & TEA BAR ORGANIZATION
But First, Coffee.
At the coffee and tea bar, we blended acrylic accessories with natural materials to achieve both form and function. My favorite feature is the chic acrylic to-go cup organizer, designed for those “walking out the door & need a coffee” moments. The sleek acrylic tray offers a stylish home for espresso essentials and keeps any would-be messes contained.
Coffee is stored in stylish glass and wood jars, seamlessly connecting to the pieces in the nearby pantry. Tea enthusiasts aren’t forgotten, either; a dedicated drawer features storage for an array of tea bags, mini brass tea tins, and honey spoons—proving that even the smallest details can elevate the everyday ritual.out the coffee bar.

BAKING DRAWER ORGANIZATION
Sugar & Spice
Our client envisioned a baking drawer where everything was beautifully displayed and impeccably organized. We designed a custom layout for an acrylic insert and teamed up with Salt by Sabrina to create the perfect fit. Glass test tube jars with cork lids showcase vibrant sprinkles, while cookie cutters and tools each have their own designated spots. Plus, celebration candles have their own spot too—no more last-minute frantic searches for that key party essential!
